Red flag or not

I asked my boyfriend what his thoughts were on getting engaged in a year or two three max. He said soon we’ll talk about it and then proceeded to say when the time is right. Should I be concern we’ve been dating for a year. I obviously don’t mean let’s do it tomorrow but I wanted to know where his head was. It just seemed concerning that he wasn’t saying the right things and kind of just played with the answer. Should I be concerned??,
