BROKE MOM!
I made a post a couple months ago on how my mom is becoming a “bill” before you jump down my throat HEAR ME OUT…. My mom works for a school system which means she’s out of work during the summer without pay. She’s been on this full time job for 30 plus years and doesn’t want to find a better job.
My mom has ALWAYS been like this from a financial standpoint. However, when my husband and I met we were doing what we had to do living in my 1 bedroom apartment. And he worked his ass off to fix his credit and bought us a brand new house. In return I worked my ass to get where I am today, I work a full-time job and a business owner. With that being said, we’re by far not rich but we are comfortable. And boy oh boy, I have had family members call me rich, unfriend me from Facebook and my mom and I are close so I tell her when I notice family treating me differently. But hell, she’s just like them.
Okay back on track… last week my mom asked me to pay her mortgage of $2,200!!!! Yes she’s married to my sisters dad and he works full time! I told her no because I had to pay my half of bills for personal and business. Then yesterday she asked me for $65. I gave it to her with no intentions on getting it back.
Guys help me please! I feel like my mom and I relationship is going downhill since she thinks I’m her walking bank.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO??
Below is the post I made previously….
Sorry if this isn’t the correct group to post. This is my first time posting on here so I will be anonymous because I know people can be evil.
My mom has been on her full time job for 30+ years. She complains about her pay but when I tell her to find another job it goes in one ear and out the other. My mom and her husband have both asked me for money at least 4-5 times this year already. They always ask between $200-$400. I’m to the point where I dont want to communicate with none of them because they are becoming a EXPENSE. Since it’s my mom I feel guilt if I say “No” because she knows my husband and I are living comfortably (below our means). I am to the point where I no longer want to communicate with them because they are becoming a “BILL”. My mom received 20,000 last year from a lawsuit and it was gone with 3-4 months. She is horrible with managing her money.
Lastly, recently on my birthday she asked for $200. She said I hate to ask on your birthday but…. 🤦🏽♀️
