Are you still with him?

My grandparents and distant family are constantly asking everytime I see them if I'm still with my partner. We are still together and happy. We had many arguments over the years but in a much better place now. It's really getting to me now. They never ask if he's okay or what he's doing just always if we are together. I need to say something as I really can't do it anymore I just don't know how.

Sounds to me like they’re not asking for the reason you might think. They are probably just wondering if you’re still together because you haven’t had kids yet and most older generations think of a ‘happy relationship’ involves getting pregnant and ‘settling down’. Thats why they’re not curious about how he’s actually doing or what he’s up to etc.

My grandparents constantly ask my brother if he’s still with his girlfriend because he never comes around and when he does come around he never brings her around {rightfully so she sucks}
