26 and can’t make friends

How do you make friends? I’ve tried bumble. Matched with a girl but she takes 2-3 days or more to respond. We met up and I felt like she was a good match but doesn’t communicate much.

I’m too nervous to go out alone I feel like everyone will stare and wonder why I’m by myself. What do I do sitting there? Stare into space? How can I get over this? Someone said tried happy hour but I feel that’s more awkward and we don’t have many events in my town.
