Is it weird to contact the owners of my grandparents house?

Question

My grandparents sold their house in about 2000. My cousins and I all loved the house and have very fond memories of it. My grandparents have both since passed and while I would love to set foot in that house again, I know contacting the new owners is probably going to be bizarre.

I would love to send them a card just saying that I'm the granddaughter of the prior owners and that we had such a wonderful time in the house. I hope they are building wonderful memories like the ones my family has. I was going to include a couple photos we have of us on the front steps because the house is in the background, and another of all of us by the Christmas tree in the front window because the view is very distinct and wouldn't have changed much. I was just going to have my email there so they can reach out if they want to.

I just worry that it's going to creep them out and make them feel like I'm stalking them. I know the address, not their names. Is it weird or not?

Sending random people old pictures of you and other family members in/around the home and talking about how much you loved the home might come across is weird. I get the sentiment, but you can’t really project that onto random people

Personally, I would love it if someone did that for us. I’m a HUGE fan of memories that I’d invite you over so we can share stories lol.
You can try and the worst that can happen is they block you or report you lol.

If you're doing it with the intention of just passing on happiness, I say go for it. I think the pictures from the past show that you were actually there, and aren't just some rando being creepy. You never know these days! 
If I got a message like that, I would personally invite them over for a summer BBQ. Non-committal, let them tour the house, and keep in touch via email for Christmas. But that's also who I am. I don't have anything to hide, and nothing to risk.

the people that lived in the house I grew up in live beside my grandparents and we went and looked at the house and they were excited to show us what they had done. they sold it after they outgrew it and the guy who currently lives there lives when we come over. but we also live two houses down from my old house lol
