Family members are upset they didn’t know the baby news before announcement

Okay, here’s the tea.

I just had an early Valentine’s Day party to officially announce that my hubby & I are expecting 👣 ; with only my close family, like my siblings (ages 7 - 25) .

We told my parents a week earlier because that’s how I wanted it. And I wanted that moment with just my parents. With the other 4 siblings I have, we also wanted to do a little something cute & fun.

After a couple hours of the cute announcement, happy cries , and everyone goes home;I receive a text from my sister’s fiancé .

The text started sweet and saying how happy they are but tells me how I NEED TO REACH OUT because of how upset my sister is that “she didn’t know first and always knows the news last and blahblah blah.sisters need to share everything blahblah blah. “ Are you kidding me?

I didn’t even respond. 1st, my 24 yr old sister and I don’t have that BFF relationship, we have come from a longggg way. She’s very distant most times and lives in her world and isn’t the type of person to tell us things that goes on in her life . She’s not a person who reaches out to me or calls me to see how I am , always me that calls.

My little brothers who are 10 & 21 call me more than her, and if anything , I wanted to tell my little brothers first with how Often they check on me . Even my 21 yr old brother was a little sad he didn’t know first cause he’s my bff 😂 but still is very supportive and excited.

Drama is the last thing I need with the symptoms I’ve been experiencing and I wanted to be my true self around the family I hang out with. My sister is more than welcome to reach out to me 1st and ask me, I don’t need anyone speaking on her behalf . I need people to put in effort too. But, I won’t be the one reaching out first for anything. But yeah, just wanted to share & here your thoughts if y’all would do the same or if I’m being too petty. 🤰🙃
