Boyfriend raped a 13 year old 16 years ago

Me and my boyfriend have been together for over a year. He's met my children. He's always seemed like such a good guy. He lost his daughter a long time ago because she killed herself after her rapist got off and everyone called her a liar. She killed herself at 17 and he's always been so vulnerable about it. I thought he was amazing. He always had an excuse on why he never came to any of my kids events and I thought nothing of it until someone on Facebook let me know he's a registered sex offender and did 11 years in prison for breaking and entering and taping a 13 year old boy. When I confronted it he got defensive..I read all the court documents and he did this to avenge is dead daughter because the boy was the son of the man who raped his daughter. He and his brothers originally planned to rape the mans adult daughter in front of them but she wasn't there when they broke in so my boyfriend and his 3 brothers took turns raping a 13 year old in front of his dad. When I confronted him he got defensive and said that man was the reason he lost his daughter. I just asked him what did the 13 year old do and his exact words were "Hopefully I taught him what happens to predators and he never turned out like his dad." He said it was 16 years ago. He got revenge for his daughter and daughter did his time. There's NO remorse. He said I can't judge him because I wasn't in his situation and he's not a pedophile because he never would have done it if that dad hadn't been the reason his daughter took her life and the original plan was not to rape a 13 year old. It just happened. I made him leave. My mom said I did the right thing but my dad and brother thinks it was a long time ago and he was grieving and doing what he thought was right. None of my kids have been sexually assaulted. I never lost a child but I can't imagine my anger being so bad that I take my revenge out on their kid.
