Is it weird he hasn’t told his family we’re having a baby yet?

I’m 25 weeks. I know he has issues with his dad, but he says he keeps in touch with his brothers, and that he talks to his cousin and mom but barely because they don’t live in this country. But why not reach out to them and spread the news for your first baby? He keeps to himself often like he almost don’t have any friends just a close coworker. he also doesn’t care for a baby shower but I want a babyshower and he doesn’t even want to invite his brothers, not even the one who he lives with. He said if he invites him the news could spread to his father and he doesn’t want that. Our relationship is going but we’re having a baby and that’s significant.
