Unhealthy relationship

Couple months ago I got on a wait list for a low income apartment. Well they recently called me with availability so I went thru all the motions to apply, now I’m waiting to be approved and to see how much my rent will be.

I’m going to be leaving an unhealthy relationship. Things seem like they have gotten better lately but I know there’s going to be a breaking point and it will be back to the same crap.

My son’s dad doesn’t know I’ve done any of this. He is very controlling, doesn’t do anything with our son, and he is mean. Abusive. Has gotten physical on his part before with me.

My child is young. And his dad always uses him saying he lives with him blah blah blah. He won’t help me move either. I’ve talked about moving before but he won’t help me. I’ve taken so much to my dad’s house already to store while I wait.

I really hope to get approved but I’m also worried to leave this situation and not tell him. Next thing you know I’m going to have a fully furnished apartment behind his back.

Given it’s an unhealthy relationship, he doesn’t want me to leave. So I’m kinda scared at the time time and fear steals away the joy I should be feeling. Life is going to be changing a lot for me because either way I have to figure out a plan b if need be.
