Fear of pre/cum taste

TMI topic sorry!

I really want to start giving my partner head but I’m finding it really hard to get over my fear of the taste. I’ve had some bad experiences with unhygienic (I’m guessing) guys in the past that has put me off ever doing it but I actually would love to pleasure him this way. It’s been almost 10 years since I sucked one lol so it’s like a mental block at this stage. Every time I nearly get the courage to do it I chicken out 😭 I’m thinking about showering together and doing it in there because then if it tastes bad I can spit it out or whatever. Ideally without offending him but he knows I’m scared of the taste 😅

Has anyone had this problem and solved it or have any tips for like a beginner 😅
