Was I wrong asking for my money?

I’ve been with my boyfriend for almost 2 years. From October 2024 to May of this year, he was unemployed. During that time, I helped him financially — gas, food, clothes, dates, and even covered his daughter’s cheerleading fees.

We agreed that once he got a job, he’d repay me just the cheer fees and car repair money — around $1500 total. We settled on $200 every other check (I understood he has rent and a child).

He started working in May. I told him I’d like to start seeing payments by late June/early July. I asked on July 4th, and he said “not at the moment” because he had an upcoming Disney trip with his daughter — a trip I only learned about a week prior.

After the trip, I asked if he could spot me $60 for my nails, and I’d cover the rest. He said yes. The next day, I reminded him and he responded, “I don’t remember saying yes. I just came back from a week-long trip, you need to chill.”

So I dropped it and just asked if he could send the $200 like we planned. He replied, “I’m going low because of nails.”

It’s not even about the nails — I don’t expect him to pay for my beauty stuff. I’m just frustrated because he agreed to something and then walked it back, again, and hasn’t followed through on what he promised months ago.
