I was crying earlier today bc my boyfriend told me that he thinks “women don’t belong in politics” and that “in politics men are superior than women”. I know that crying was dramatic, but it really shocked and hurt me to hear him say something so awful. I would have never expected that from him. He has always respected women and acknowledged the struggles we face from society and the government. I asked him why he thought that and he started naming random controversial female political figures that are disliked by most people (MTG, Tomi Lahren, Hillary, Warren, Trump’s daughters).

I just can’t look at him the same now and idk what to say to him. He says he doesn’t look down on women, yet says women are too “emotional and weak” to be in politics and just disregards everything i say. How can I make him realize that his opinion is extremely disrespectful and distasteful? What should I say to him to express my disappointment? Should I end the relationship?
