When did everyone begin their maternity leave?

I’m currently about 30 weeks, and my job is causing me some back pain. If you’ve been in a similar situation, did you start your maternity leave early? I may also decide not to return to work afterwards.

I’m 36 weeks & plan on working until I’m in labor , but that is just because I only get 12 weeks maternity & I’d rather spend all of it with the baby. I worked up until the night before my induction date with my first baby & with my second baby my SO was making enough to cover all of the bills so I actually quit my job when I hit the third trimester & took 6 months off before returning to work. I would love to start my leave now, but I think in my case it’s best I wait.

7 weeks prior for medical leave but my initial plan had been to work until about a week prior.
I think it also would depend on where you live and how much time you are eligible for, I’m in Canada and can take 12 to 18 months so leaving a few weeks early isn’t too bad.. I know places in the states where it’s like 6 weeks, I couldn’t imagine

Due 22nd June. Won’t start my maternity until the 19th June but also have annual leave so will stop working at 36w 5d

I went to work the day my contractions started 😂 left mid day and then she was born at 1:07 AM. I will be working until 36 weeks this pregnancy, but only off because I’m a teacher and that is when our summer break starts.

I wish I could go on maternity leave now at 21 weeks. 😂 But that’s just bc I have 27 5-6 year olds that bring my stress level to a 10 daily. 😂 Realistically, I’ll wait until as late as possible to have more time after baby is born. 6 weeks just isn’t enough time.

Been off since March, baby due in August, I take a year after baby is born so won't be back till august 2024.

with my first two I worked all the way up until I delivered with both it was hard but I managed. with my third that I just delivered a few days ago I had to stop working at 35 weeks bc it was to much for me it was unpaid but I was able to cover bills while out. just started my 6 weeks and back to work next month also not looking to go back to my current employer I have something else set up with working

8 weeks for me lol. It was actually sick leave from 8 weeks to 41 weeks and then now I'm on maternity leave until December

Mine was a very stressful high profile office job. I started my maternity leave at 37w2d and even then it was on docs orders.
