Total hysterectomy! Scared ?

Question

So after my baby is delivered (c-section) I'm gonna have to have a total hysterectomy same time. Bc of this the dr. Says he needs to do general anesthesia not a spinal (I'll be asleep). Anyone else experience this? Did u have to b out to sleep or did they let u stay awake? How long till you woke up? Did it affect u breastfeeding your baby?

So sorry you have to go through this!

​I had an emergency C, and was under general. It took a while to feel "normal" after but I had been in labour for nearly 24 hours and they had given me narcotics for pain, so this contributed to the yucky feeling.

​Other times I've been under general (appendix and ovarian cyst removal) it has been absolutely fine!

​You're bloated for a few days because they pump your insides full of gas, but other than that fine!

Hello.  So sorry to hear this you poor thing. I was put to sleep for my last caesarean as I had uterine rupture, I didn't have a hysterectomie but I was breast feeding as soon as I woke up and had no problems hope that helps x
