Lack of conversation

So me and my bf have been together 9 months and he can't seem to hold a conversation with me and when I say something about it he just say's he's not a big texter but yet never calls or video chats me (when I call him he never stays on the phone long). Also I've seen him text with his friends and family and he seems to know how to keep a conversation going through text with them. It makes me feel like he just is bored with me. I'm really annoyed with it.
