Mom making fun of my boyfriend

My mom and stepdad came over to my house earlier to help fix something on my car.

My stepdad was looking at my car and my boyfriend went over to help him. He was talking to him about the car and trying to make conversation.

My mom and I sat on the porch and just chatted. She was starting to annoy me because she was kinda making fun of my bf. She was saying that he talks a lot.. just because he was talking to my step dad. And my boyfriend said something (that he meant in a serious way) and I looked over at her and she was like laughing at him. It was so rude.

My mom has always been a bit weird in public or around people. I don’t know if she has social anxiety or what, but she was never outgoing, friendly, or anything like that. And she sits back and judges everyone. She has embarrassed me when I would bring friends over or ex boyfriends in the past. Because she’s isn’t friendly with them or makes them feel welcome in our home.

I feel bad because mt boyfriend is so sweet and is wonderful to me. And my mom making fun of him instead of complimenting him or saying positive things about him makes me so mad. Especially since I use to be in a toxic relationship.. and now I’m in a healthy wonderful relationship and she knows that.

Honestly, it’s why I don’t go over to her house often anymore … because she acts like this.
