Do you regret having kids?

Question

My boyfriend wants kids (biological ones) in the future and as of right now, I don’t, but I feel like that could change. I’m most worried that I’ll regret the decision. People with kids—what is your honest opinion on your decision to have kids? If you could do it all over again, would you still choose to have them?

I said sometimes - lemme explain. 
I LOVE my kids. I wouldn’t change them for the world. With that being said though, I wish I had them later in life and with someone else. My kids keep me trapped in a relationship I probably would have ended a long time ago just in the sense that if I were to leave my partner and take my kids with me (which I’d of course want to do) I don’t know how I would afford childcare so I could work and therefore idk how I’d be able to support the 3 of us on my own. 
And I think I can speak for all moms when I say this - somedays you just miss the life you had before kids. Especially when they’re young, unless you have a great support system, motherhood can be isolating and lonely. I mean my kids are 4.5 and 2 and I can’t remember the last time I’ve had an outing with a friend or a day of even a few hours 100% kid free. And for that, I feel like I’ve lost myself to motherhood. It’s the little things you take for granted that you miss most when you have children - like being able to make plans on a whim, or sleep in, or have a couple of drinks, or watch tv in peace and quiet. 
Also the financial freedom - I rarely spend money on myself anymore - even when I can afford too, I don’t because I feel guilty spending that money on myself instead of buying for my kids - whether it be clothes or toys or taking them to do something fun. But just in general, kids are expensive. The money I spend between basic essentials, groceries, childcare, toys, clothes etc is astronomical. 
However, I feel like if I had my kids with someone that is genuinely a partner and helps split responsibilities, we were more financially stable, and I had a good support system, I wouldn’t feel this way.

I don't regret having them at all and am so glad i waited until I did. I had my first at 34 and second at 36. I don't miss anything about my life before kids but there of course are challenging days.

Not at all we planned our kids and we are so much closer as husband and wife and we still keep us as a couple a priority with dates and alone time so it's honestly just been such an amazing experience becoming parents.

I don’t regret having them at all, but I wish we would’ve planned a lot better and I wish we would’ve been in a better financial place. Both of my children were beautiful surprises but they also were not planned and that makes everything change in your life at the speed of light. I also had HG with both which meant my pregnancies were difficult and high risk with lots and lots of medical bills. I’d do it all over again, but definitely would change some things. I'd absolutely have them all over again! There's nothing I regret about having kids. Instead I regret not emancipating myself and getting married much sooner. My husband and I married just after turning 22, but if I had turned my parents in for their abuse then I would have been able to heal more before having kids and my husband and I would have married in highschool. Having my kids shoved me into healing in a way I wasn't prepared for, but I'm damn greatful for it. We're on our 4th pregnancy and 3rd baby and there's nothing we regret. We've had our kids young at 22, 23, and 25. This will be our last baby as it's too dangerous for me to continue having pregnancy due to HG putting me on my death bed each pregnancy and me needing to be hospitalized a lot. I don't miss my life before kids, we both have s spending budget each month so it's not all about the kids, and I socialize more now that I did before kids. My life took a direction I never expected of being a SAHM and homeschooling, but it's amazing.

I wish I would've had them later in life when I was more settled and with someone else. My ex trapped me with my first pregnancy at 18. I'm now out of it but wish I would've been more settled in my life before having kids. I had plans and stuff lined up for college and everything too.
