I have been with my bf for over 5 years and he constantly degrades me. He calls me a stupid fat ugly bitch all the time, and when I ask him to please stop and to respect my boundaries, he just laughs and says I'm too sensitive/can't take a joke. He disrespects my family which is hurtful and embarrassing. He seems so distant lately and he leaves the house in the middle of the night frequently. I feel like something might be going on.

Well first, you can break up with anyone you want for whatever reason you want. You don’t need to be stuck to someone you don’t want to be.
