How much did you gain (if you did) and when did you notice the weight gain started?

I was on depo shot 18 yrs ago and I did gain weight. I don’t remember how much. So I got off of it. I recently decided to get back on it in December. Worst decision ever. I had headaches, abdominal cramps. Only did one round. My period came back really quick however I have severe cramping. I probably shed my uterus all at once and I had a ball come out of me. It’s never happens before and hasn’t happened since. I think depo had something to do with it. I would never recommend depo.

So actually... not everyone will gain weight on the Depo. I was on it for about 4 years. When i started the shot i was 135-140 pounds. Within a few months i was down to 100 pounds. I have not been on the Depo since 2020 and i still have not gained the weight back. I remember asking the dr " will i get bigger" she said, " everyone is different. Some people gain some people lose. And also, if your on it for years like i was you WILL have withdraws. I was nauseous, had night sweats and hot/cold flashes. I do NOT RECOMMEND. My MIL also had the same withdraw issues i had. She was on the depo for 8 years.

I only stayed on the depo for 9 months (3 shots total) because the side effects were horrible for me. I gained 40 pounds in 9 months, despite maintaining my diet and exercise regimen. I was soooo moody, had horrible headaches, hot flashes, you name it. I hated everything about depo. I ended up getting the non hormonal IUD after getting off depo, and absolutely loved it.
