Could I potentially be fired for this?

So my boyfriend has a medical marijuana card that he uses for Tourette syndrome & anxiety. He is very much a stoner and he also smokes to get high too. I do not smoke marijuana (I don’t even drink alcohol). The other day I was in the car with my boyfriend outside of the dispensary where he gets his marijuana and he was smoking his pot in the car. I am paranoid that someone from my work may have saw me in the car with him and I don’t want to be fired. I do not smoke, if they were to test me it would come back negative, but if someone from my work saw me outside of work with my boyfriend smoking pot, could I be fired?

If they fired you for something like seeing you at a dispensary, fight it. Unless you have marijuana in your system, they can’t fire you. Even if they say they will, that’s bullshit. Most places that have medical marijuana are trying to make laws so jobs can’t disqualify you for having your medical card and when you get drug tested marijuana in your system wouldn’t be able to get you fired. I have my medical card.

Honestly, I don’t think you’re paranoid as it kind of depends on the job, as well as the state you live in. A good friend of mine could be fired just for being seen at a dispensary. Her boss has told her this. 
I wouldn’t worry if someone did see you, as you’ve said you would test negative anyway. You can just say he has to have it due to medical issues, and you went with him. Which is a fact.

In California it's legal idk where you are. They don't even drug test at my job. Whatever you do outside of work is non of their business. Unless youre high at work then yes thats a problem. You do know if you're in the car and he's smoking you could get contact high though right? Also would be in your hair and you would smell like weed and could test positive for it. You're technically inhaling smoke if you're in the car with him.
