Is there a word/name for this behavior?

My mother always tries to like make comments about my husband as if she is insinuating something about him. She does with my brother’s wives as well. But I cant think of a term for it, if there is one. Its extremely annoying.

My husband is not perfect BUT he is a good guy and Im very happy with him. My mom lives 8hours away.

For instance, I called her to chat for a minute when he left to go grab a few things at the store. She asked if I was home with all 3 of our kids. I said yes, were watching a movie. She asked “well why didnt he take any of the kids with him?” I said idk he is just running to grab a couple things real quick. Not a big deal. She said “I just feel like youre always left with the kids”

…2 of my kids are in school and Im in school full time, so Im gone a lot during the week. Husband works full time(from home) and my mother in-law watches our youngest.

Or He goes hunting with his Dad on Saturday and I was talking to her about hunting and mentioned mornings are usually the best time. But when I told her he was going hunting all day with his Dad she said “I don’t understand why he is going all day if its best to hunt in the morning?”…

Or if I go run an errand and call her, if she hears a kid in the background she asks if I have ALL the kids with me.. I will say no just the oldest or whatever. And she will ask “oh well where are the other 2 kids?” as if I dont have a husband.

Or on the phone with her, I say WE are hanging out watching football, eatings snacks, doing some laundry and she will ask what my husband is doing… and Ill repeat what I just told her.

She does this constantly… and when I call her out on it she will play the victim “Im just asking, I didnt know” or “ I just think youre always home with the kids” though Im not and at school most the time. She knows what she is doing and I know too. It p*sses me off.
