I feel so bad for this mom

There's this mom who is going through it. She lost the father of her son last month and it's been causing her son to act out. I'm a daycare director and we've been trying to help her the best we can. Her husband who is the son's step is unhinged! She has to work at 6am. Our daycare doesn't open until 7 so he drops the son off and she picks him up. This man ends up picking the boy up yesterday. He dropped him off and picked him up. I guess the step dad got a new toy because he comes in a daycare with a pew pew. Not just any pew pew. Something that is clearly an assault rifle. I'm a gun owner myself. I would never bring one into a daycare, let alone a fucking assault rifle. One of my teachers saw him and was shaking and he was saying he just bought it and stuff and blah blah. I told him he can not have a gun in here and texted my teachers to lock their doors. He said he can because it's his first amendment right. I said "That's not how that works. You need to step out of here and put that in your car right now." I didn't know how to handle this so I tried to stay calm. He got mad and started yelling about Biden or whatever and he was yelling that I can't take away his rights. One of my teachers was calling the cops and I stood my ground as a 5 foot woman against a 6 foot something red neck with a pew pew. He was so verbally aggressive that I thought he would shoot us up. Long story short the police arrested him and he's banned from the daycare. The mom is stressed because she doesn't know how she will get him to daycare now since step dad is banned. I really want to help her more but I can't let step dad back. I have to keep my staff and the kiddos safe too. It's not my place but this man is someone she needs to leave. He's been unhinged before but the gun was a new one.
