What are yalls thoughts on laughing gas during labor? My hospital offers it and I just want thoughts & opinions on it before I go for it.

Ive never tried it before during labor. I am not sure its an option in my area but if it were an option I think I would give it a shot depending on the pros and cons of it.

You can try it and then change your mind and get an epidural! 
With my first I used it and it just made me dizzy, it was no help. With my second I was able to use it (it took the edge off and was really great to have it yo focus my breathing) and ended up being able to skip the epidural! For my third the plan is to use it again

I tried it while in labor with my first. It helped take the edge off and helped me relax for a little while. I probably used it 2-3 hours (I was induced) Eventually it was not effective when my contractions started getting really intense (particularly when they increased the pitocin)and I got an epidural

I follow Jen, the labor rn on tiktok and she just made a video about it. Summed it up as "you still feel pain, but pain in outerspace" and it just kinda relaxes you. Also learned that you cant have it once you have an epidural. Seems like 50/50, some like it some dont. I plan on trying it this time so I can move around more.

I used it in labor with my first until I reached a point where it wasn’t effective. I think it was very helpful to take that edge off. You still feel the contractions but you almost don’t care. Worked for me until about 6cm and then I wanted an epidural
