Do you expect souvenirs from friends who travel?

Jess

My friend "T" and I have a mutual friend who recently went to the Caribbean. T is upset that she got a "cheap, airport bracelet" as a souvenir. I was thrilled. I thought it was really sweet! It's not something that's super expensive, but I figure our friend probably paid at least $15 Canadian for it. Also, who cares where it was bought? So what if it was bought in an airport!

T says that our friend could have bought something a little nicer because she says the bracelet seems "generic and cheap". I disagree. I think T is just upset (and jealous) because our friend went on a really expensive, crazy holiday so she was expecting a crazy expensive gift.

When you travel, do you buy souvenirs for friends? If so, how much do you spend and what do you typically buy?
