Is it weird that I'm the one who holds doors open for my husband in the relationship?
My husband is a germaphobe and has bad OCD. He thinks things can't be clean enough. One example of this is we have a 3 month old baby and at our baby shower we were given a bottle sterilizer. My husband researched it and decided since it was only $50 it couldn't possibly sterilize the bottles well so he went and bought another one for $300. I was not happy. He also has to clean and dry the bottles 3 separate times before he puts them in the sterilizer even though the sterilizer also washes the bottles. I made him go to therapy because at this rate he was gonna want us all to live in a bubble. Anyway, part of this issue is he doesn't like touching door handles without a tissue or something so instead of having him use a tissue everywhere I just open doors for him. I honestly do it so much that I don't even notice because it's not a big deal but my parents don't like it and find it weird and say I'm being masculine. I'm not trying to be masculine. Just getting through the day and if this little gesture makes him feel better than ok.
