Oldest child wants birthday without his siblings 🫤
I have 5 kids. My oldest son is almost 16, then I have 3 daughters 13, 11 and twins who are 8. Majority of my kids are special needs. My 13 and 11 year old are severely autistic while both the twins were born with cerebral palsy. They take up a lot of attention. We don't go out very often because my girls get anxious and overstimulated. My son says he does feel like he gets forgotten a lot. I've always said family is about making sacrifices. He turns 16 next week and I was gonna invite family over for a party. Well my son said he wants to go see a movie for his birthday and go to this pizza place he likes. I said that won't work because it will overwhelm his sisters. He said why not they stay home with Grandma and Grandpa and me and my husband and him have a day together. I said he should want all of us there with him for his birthday but he says he doesn't. He just wants one day all about him. I told him that wouldn't be fair to his siblings and reminded him that family is all about sacrifices and he said for 16 years he's the only one having to make sacrifices. He got upset and said he doesn't want to do anything now. My Mil said she would take him for the weekend and that all he wants is attention. I don't want him to spend his big 16 without us but he's so angry with us. I just don't want to exclude his siblings because of their disability.
