Am I just insecure?

My bf and I were on the phone today and I asked him if he’d met one of our new employees at my job (he doesn’t work at my job but he’s a regular here and that’s how we met) he said yes he did, and she’s pregnant and he said hw asked her how far along she was and what the gender of her baby was. My boyfriend is really friendly. I said what was the point of that? What does it matter what she’s having? He said I’m just a people’s person and I work so when I cross paths with people I like to have conversations. I said okay. He then made a joke about her flirting with him which he said was untrue and laughed it off. He hasn’t cheated on me before that I’m aware of, but he does not like me taking his phone or having it in my possession.

Am I insecure or does he just sound like a straight up cheater? He told me I’m jealous.
