This school wants me to come back

I'm a social worker and was working at a school last year until I got fired. When I first started at this school it was a very low income school and my problem was the principal. I was told by many people even though she and everyone who works there are mandated reporters, she discourages teachers and everyone from calling CPS and she doesn't herself. I know CPS is scary. Especially in lower income schools but it's very irresponsible when we are legal mandated reporters to not call when we think something is going on. We could lose our job. Our license and even go to jail. I had one client I worked with there. This girl was the sweetest thing in the entire world. The problem was another boy in her glass. They're 4th graders btw. He would call her names. Hit her. He even once brought a knife to school and pulled it on her. All they did was take the knife away. Didn't suspend him or anything. I was told they were gonna make a CPS report but apparently they never did. They didn't even tell the mom he did that. He told her when he got home. The last serious thing thing that happened was they didn't have enough subs so they spread all the kids around. This 4th grader ended up in a kindergarten classroom which with how violent he is. Well this boy ended up sodomizing one of the kindergartners. This principal not only didn't call the police. She also told the kindergartners mom that they don't know what happened. When the teacher walked into the bathroom because she heard the little boy crying and both there pants were down and the little boy was bleeding back there. She said we technically didn't see him in the act so we don't know what he did. This is what led to me getting fired because I told her she's not helping either of these kids by trying to sweep it under the rug. That she needs to also call CPS to figure out WTF is going on in that home because that's not normal for a 4th grader. She told me not to tell her how to do her job and I said I wouldn't if she would do it correctly. She didn't like that. Then I was fired. I ended up making the cps report and putting it in there that the principal is aware all this happened. I know there were investigations done at the school afterward. All I know is she was fired. Now the school wants me to come back and said she no longer works there and would really like me back. I know she no longer works there but idk how much this school has changed because all this happened just last year and while I love the kids, it was so toxic.
