Is my husband being sexist?

My step son (14 almost 15) asked me to take him to his girlfriend's softball game Saturday . I said sure. My husband's cousin just invited them to a baseball game that's also Saturday and my step son said he already agreed to go to his girlfriend's softball game. My husband was saying he's been at every game already and my step son said he has already agreed to. Where my husband got a bit sexist was him saying "These are real sports that require actual skill. Watching females play sports is equivalent to watching paint dry." I found that really shitty. In the end my step son still is choosing to go to his girlfriend's game and my husband has been complaining about how guys these days are becoming slaves to their partners. I said "Isn't showing up to your boyfriend's football games part of being a supportive girlfriend in high school? Why is this different." My husband just said boys playing football is different than girls softball. It requires talent.
