Don’t feel a connection with him, do I cut It off?

I’ve seen this guy out, he’s friends with one of my friend’s husband. About a year ago I asked him if he was single and he wasn’t. I thought I felt a connection even though he’s not my type at all. Well this last weekend he approached me and we finally had conversations and exchanged numbers but I realized after talking with him I don’t feel anything romantic. Nothing happened, we didn’t kiss or anything. Do I give It more time or just cut It off?
