When did you take your newborn out to a restaurant or store?

Just curious when everyone took their newborn(s) out (not for a walk) for the first time?

On the way home from the hospital.

We had to go to the store at around three weeks old. We went to a restaurant at 2 months old and she had a crazy diaper blowout 😆 She farted so loud and then pooped all up her back 😆 It was fun changing that in the restaurant bathroom. ￼

I didn’t. Both my kids were born post COVID and I wasn’t taking any chances. Taking a fresh baby out into the world is overrated.

Right away with all 4 of mine. Like 2 days old? We almost always have to go grocery shopping or shopping for some baby item after we leave the hospital. Lol

3 days postpartum with my toddlers and they were each born during seperate Covid lockdowns. With my newborn I waited a week before going back to my normal routine simply because I was busy learning to breastfeed. So the following week I was back at toddler reading group, church twice a week, playgrounds, playdates, ect.

With my first it wasn't until he was a few months old since he was born during the peak of covid. With my 2nd he was about a month (I had to heal from my 2nd C-section and I don't have a license so I couldn't really go anywhere)

Baby 1 was born into the worst flu/rsv year my city had seen which also had a huge measles outbreak and whooping cough so like 3 months old per pediatrician. Baby 2 was height of pandemic and lock downs and was born with a very compromised immune system so 3 or 4 months. This baby we will see lol. Will be nice not to have to wear a mask for labor like for baby 1 and 2 lol. Yes baby 1 yrs before covid due to flu and rsv we had to mask.

5 days old (1 day out of hospital had a c section and needed to stay in extended 2 days due to spinal leak). 
We went to do food shopping (he was a medical induction that failed went in with reduced movements on the Sunday had him on the Wednesday). The next day after we went and did the food shop we went out for a meal including baby.
