Dating a recovering addict: Is 4 years sober enough?

I started dating this guy a few weeks ago. He's really fun to be around. He's a stand up comedian and also a chef so he's a great cook. He told me recently that he is a recovering addict. He's been sober for 4 years. He used to do child acting and his mom was a stage mom and super strict. He has red hair and his mom used to bleach it blonde when he was two and up because he would be more likely to get roles because they adore white kids with blonde hair and blue eyes. He got addicted to drugs because his mom started drugging him when he was 13 to keep him awake. True Judy Garland shit. His childhood was fucked. He's been sober for 4 years. idk much about recovering addicts but is 4 years enough for him to maintain a stable relationship?
