Is this mean? Or I could’ve handled it better?
Sunday night I got into a car accident on, sitting at a red light car runs in the back of me. My 8 year old was in the car as well. Pulled over immediately, the girl in the backseat gets out talking smart talk, saying she has insurance, lawyer money etc. I’m looking at her like she crazy, I wasn’t even too upset because I know I can get a new bumper. I walked over to the driver side told her get out talk to me I don’t want any issues because I can tell she was scared and drunk. It’s literally happened in front of the police station. I told her give me your insurance info I just want my car fixed we don’t have to get the cops involved. She told me she is on her mom’s insurance and that she was 24, she said her mom would be mad at her. I said I’ll take my car to get an estimate from the dealership and you can pay the dealership which I think that’s fair. I get her number Monday I text her the estimate no response, today no response so I found out who her mom was inboxed her, her mother was beyond pissed. Mother said she will have her contact me this was said at 9:00am I didn’t hear anything back. I called her insurance and filed a claim. I felt bad because she is a young adult that who is in college, who made the wrong choice to drink and drive. A DUI will always be on your record, I was trying to have a heart and have some compassion. I wasn’t hurt my child wasn’t hurt. I told her to let one of her sober friends drive. But at the same time you’re in the adult world and you have to learn. Btw I have a 2024 Camry XSE that was purchased last year, I put mods and tints into invested a lot of time and money in it. So imagine how I felt when I didn’t get a response back.
