What age did your child start school?

I have a 4 years old, and am stay home mom and am not ready to send my child to school yet but I also feel bad when I see other kids his age going to school. What are your thoughts on this?

Kindergarten is 5 where I live. But my kids attended daycare from age 1 that went up to kprep. I personally couldn’t imagine waiting until kindergarten. I coach soccer and baseball and I see the 3-4-5 year olds that come to play who haven’t attended school. They don’t know how to interact with other children, follow basic direction, walk in a line. They cry over everything. Also they get sick constantly. They haven’t been exposed to their peers, their world literally revolves around them and it’s very obvious. I can imagine the longer they’re not having those experiences the scarier it is for them. I have no regrets sending my kids to school early.

The cut off for kindergarten is 5 by September 1st. My oldest was nearly 6 when they started school, my youngest was 5 1/2.

My son attended a daycare academy when he was 5 months. They did many school activities and lessons. He was able to read and write by 3. He started Pre-K at 4 and kindergarten at 5.

My oldest was 6 when she started kindergarten because her birthday was late November & past the cut off for the school year. My 4th will also be 6 when he starts kindergarten because he's an October baby. 
2nd & 3rd were 5 when they started. 
They all did fine at the ages they went in.
