Should I be concerned?

My 16 year old has been in bed since yesterday. I checked up on him to ask what was going on. He said Liam Payne died. I asked did he like Liam Payne? He said no but he was 31. He knows people who are 31. Then has seen on the news an 18 year olds body was found and he's close to 18 and he's realizing that we are just brought here to die. He doesn't want to celebrate his birthday next month because it's just celebrating a year closer to when he dies. Everyone in his life will die so what's the point. They e was extremely out of character. I called his dad and he thinks just give him a few days she he will be fine.
