Mom's that had a c section did you have your arms tied down?

When I had my c section they strapped my arms down and I couldn't move at all. When they handed me my son they plopped him on my neck and I couldn't breathe I couldn't move him because I had my hands tied they just held him on my neck.

My epidural for the c section also worked up to my chest and I felt like I wasn't breathing like I couldn't feel my chest raising and falling and I was crying because I felt like I wasn't breathing right.

Nobody believes me when I tell them this. Did anyone else have a similar experience?

Yeah that’s normal to have your arms tied down during a c-section. Not all, but not uncommon. They don’t want you to interfere with the surgery.

Have had 3 and never had my arms tied down. I wouldn’t let that fly

Yes with all three especially the last one. I told them I felt like I couldn’t breathe and they said that’s actually pretty common with c sections and told me why but I can’t remember. I was too excited to see my boy. My last one however they unstrapped my one hand when they brought him to me so I can touch his face.

I have had 1 c section & my arms were not tied down. We plan on baby 2 who will also be a c section & I will not allow myself to be tied if they were to try. No thank you.

I’ve had 2 c-sections and I honestly don’t know if they did or not. I think I would remember if they did though.

No. My emergency c section went well and my birth experience was pain free. I had an amazing doctor and nurses.

I have had 2 c-sections & didn’t have my hands tied, but I had warm blankets on my arms (because the OR is super cold & my nerves make me shakes so the heat helps), so I didn’t move my arms anyways. My Husband held my baby up to my face/neck while they finished stitching me. As for not feeling like you can breathe, I didn’t have it too bad with my first, but my second was terrible & made me panicky, so the anesthesiologist would have to remind me to inhale & exhale occasionally

Depends on the policies at the hospital and other medical factors. I did not have my arms tied down for my C-section, but know multiple women who did.

I was not conscious during my c section but my husband says he thinks so
