Chemical pregnancy?

I’m quite literally not processing what is happening. On January 13th, I took several different tests, different brands, all positive. Period never came. pregnancy symptoms that I had with my first. I called and made an appointment with my OB, they can’t see me until next month. I estimate that I should be about 5 weeks.

Today, January 17th, I started bleeding. It started light, but progressed into more like my period with clots. I went to the emergency room. Doctor says that my bloodwork shows that I’m not pregnant and my hcg is 2.3. (???) No ultrasound was performed. He told me that I’m not having a miscarriage because I’m not pregnant and sent me home. Bleeding is heavier now, hours later.

It’s important to note that I had some bleeding with my first pregnancy around the 5-6 week mark, which turned out to be SCH and my son was born perfectly healthy.

Is this a chemical pregnancy? Is there a chance I’m still pregnant? False positives? What on earth do I need to do??
