Legit consumer purchasing question
So i work in a conpany as a corporate account/contract logistics specalist that sells aluminum and aluminum cans for beverages. Coca cola is one of our contracts. Since November we have seen sales increases of coke and diet coke in certain areas of the nation and are hearing from some of the coke contacts that are increasing orders that a big part is trump. A large chunk of his supporters are drinking coke in celebration of him and either drinking more coke or no longer drinking other brands. The cost of aluminum (and glass) is going to go to go up when the tariffs go into place. Zero way around it as the usa doesn't have the raw materials needed to produce it. In the case if aluminum especially not just like a arent mining it...we don't have it here to mine. There is only a handful of smelters able to make the sheets needed for cans also. So if you are a soda drinker in general but specifically a hard trump supporter or maga supporter are you going to keep buying soda whem the cost goes up even higher? I don't drink soda myself but seeing the increases in ordering was surprising as people say they are struggling and if I was financially hurting soda would be my #1 to cut out. If you are a soda lover whats the cap for what you'll pay for soda because I'm curious after I saw today how much the coat of aluminum is potentially gonna go up if he actually pulls the trigger on the tariffs.
