Please share your endometriosis story!

Hi! 2 years ago I was diagnosed with Endometriosis and was on hormonal pills for a few months after I was diagnosed. I stopped taking the pills because it made me having my period 2x/month.

This afternoon I went to see my doctor again to do a checkup. And my doctor suggested me to use IUD with the brand Mirena. She was so kind and gave me some time to think about it first since I told her I’m a bit scared on getting IUD inserted into me (I read a lot of stories from people who got IUD and most of them said that it was really painful).

I asked the doctor if I could get it removed (the endometriosis) via surgery instead. And she doesn’t recommend it since I’m still really young (I’m 24 next month). Removing endometriosis via surgery in my country is pretty uncommon or rare as well, unless the patient is married (I don’t understand why. I think it’s because my country is pretty conservative lol).
