Laparoscopy/ Hormonal IUD

Hi everyone,

I’m scheduled for my first laparoscopy in July to investigate/treat endometriosis and PCOS. During the surgery, they’ll also be fitting a hormonal IUD (coil), and I’m feeling a bit nervous about it all.

I was on the pill from ages 15–18 and had a really rough experience—weight gain, acne, depression, and I just didn’t feel like myself at all. It really scared me off hormonal contraception, so I’m unsure what to expect from the IUD.

I’d really appreciate any tips or advice on what helped you during recovery from laparoscopy. And if you have endo or PCOS and have tried the hormonal IUD, I’d love to hear your experiences—did it help with your symptoms?
