New Nexplanon

I posted about this before but I just got a new implant yesterday after my other one expired about two days. I went to a different place than usual since I had insurance issues before but the woman who did it said they can last up to 4 years. I forgot to ask about a lapse with the new one since I was at the end of my period when I got it so I asked on MyChart. The nurse who answered said to use protection for 2 weeks which Ive never heard, usually they say wait a week. Should I wait the week with protection or do the two weeks?
