Dating advice

Need advice cuz im genuinely just not sure how to go abt dating anymore. Im a 20 year old female, and I’ve been on hinge for about a year now. I’m officially taking a break from that, cuz nothing good has come from it. I guess im more so tryna meet people in person and form a connection that way. To the people who are in relationships or have been in one, how did that start? Did your partner come up to you or did you go up to them? I feel like I’ve been putting myself out there, and it doesn’t really work out?.. Like I have to approach guys more often to gauge if they’re interested and it just feels like a lotta work or in my mind I feel desperate. Like genuinely unless I go up and talk to someone, no one else is coming to talk to me. It makes me feel alone because I’ve heard from so many other people that their partner came up to them and showed interest first. I’d like that instead of having to feel unwanted or make the first move all the time. Not sure what do, any advice helps.
