Hating customer service

I had a bad week at work. I got yelled at by different customers for just doing my job.

I work at a bank. On Friday, a customer cussed me out because I had to put a hold on his check he was depositing. It was because I was following our policy and I had to. He raised his voice and started cussing at me.

Yesterday, again another man yelled at me because he was getting a refund from a store and the refund wasn’t in his account yet. I told him that refunds can take up to 3 business days unfortunately. And he got loud with me. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I slid his id and debit card back to him and said “have a nice day” and then walked away. He stared at me for a few minutes than as he left he gave me the middle finger and slammed the door.

It’s so embarrassing because everyone looks at you. And it was so hard to hold back my tears. I’m so tired of just doing my job and customers taking it out on me because I’m not doing what they want me to do.

I’m also mad that my bank doesn’t do anything for me.

I’m looking for a new job. I don’t know what I deserve to get treated like that. I NEVER raise my voice or get smart with them. I try to be professional and nice the whole time. As I’m getting cussed at

Anyone else put up with this ??
