Hypothetically, your father had never hit you but gets very aggressive easily. Every time he gets angry he pokes you and put his finger in your face and gets in your face. You feel as if you can't say anything because he will hit you, there's no doubt about it. But then he hits you. Would you call the police? That's your family? Would you?
