Is it time ?

Me and my boyfriend are having our first child in June and we are moving in together in late feb of 2015 , although I want to get married and be a real family you know ? How do I hint it to him that I'm ready for this commitment and what if he says no ?

He probably won't do it at the moment because he won't want you to think he is only doing it because you are pregnant. My nephews daddy proposed to my sister in law using the expression if you weren't pregnant I wouldn't be proposing. I would have thrown the ring back at him if that was my SO.

If you're ready for the big commitment of marriage, then nothing is more important in any loving union than open and honest communication, even if it makes you feel terrifyingly vulnerable. Don't let the fear of rejection keep you from asking for what you want out of life. Hence, my best advice is to tell him what your wants are. But remember that timing is everything... Pick a time that is right for you both then communicate this with him. Chances are he's had the same thoughts and is uncomfortable and hesitant in voicing them too.

Is there a rush... I have been with my boyfriend for almost 5 years and have a two year old and have lived together for 4 1/2 years. We're not engaged but our commitment is there. Our families have asked and were just not in a rush. We want a house first and be able to have a beautiful wedding when the time is right. We have our whole lives together so there isn't a rush. There isn't any harm in just simply asking his feelings about being married. How would it affect you if he wasn't ready for marriage. It could really go either way when it comes to men. Mine wasn't really into bringing a child into the world until he met me. We have never been stronger or closer. Even though we have our days at the end we know we're willing to work through it all, together. One day we will have an engagement and wedding. But I would bring it up sometimes you have to put yourself out there and be straight forward and just ask what you want to know.
