Are tampons worth it?

I've been using pads for 5 years now, and I'm really thinking it's time to switch over to tampons. Do you guys think it's worth it? How much leakage is there on average? Thanks! xx

Oh, it's worth it all right! I can't stress how amazing they are. 
First, leaking. From my experience, Tampax Pearl tampons leak a ton more than the U by Kotex clicks, as they are the only two I've used. Tampax I personally find is not a good brand, it's uncomfortable no matter what I do.  As to the amount, you for sure have to wear a panty liner with any tampon. It leaks I'd say around light-medium spotting for compare. It doesn't even take up half of a barely there liner, which is amazing.
Alright, so I get irritated by pads, physically and mentally. They sometimes tug on my hair (sorry Tmi haha) and it really friggin hurts. It makes me itchy down there and it's absolutely horrible. I switched to tampons and I was actually amazed by how comfortable they were. I finally wasn't staining everything red, and I didn't feel itchy and irritated! It was a miracle. 
It takes a few times to get it perfect, for sure. Even if it's not in right completely it's still a huge upgrade from pads. They go in and out extremely easily. Look up videos on YouTube on how to put them in, it's easier than explaining, haha. For sure, give them a try!

I agree with Alyssa. When I firsts started my period I was on tampons but thats cause I was in 5th grade at Carowinds. My moyher put me immediately on pads and they were hell They were itchy and I was not mentally prepared for it at the time. Once I got my forst tampon back I was excited they are awhole lot easier and comfortable. But by me being so young I was naive once and put two without knowing not understanding why I was cramping so bad lol. But they are so worth it

Period cups are better! They last longer, cost less, no toxic shock risk and better for the environment.

Its worth it if you don't have major cramps. Leakage is almost impossible for me (I change it every 3/4 hours) so I stay pretty dry. Just change it at most every 6 hours. I switched to menstrual cups 4 months ago because tampons made me cramp so badly, they dried me out, and it kinda stinks to have a bloody piece of cotton stuck up there for 6 days! And I couldn't be happier with my soft cups. They can stay in for 12 hours, big improvement with my cramps, no more dryness, no more metallic smell, I can have sex with then inserted, and no leakage and no risk of TSS. The list goes on. Look into menstural cups as well.

Definitely worth it. I started using them at 16/17. Never looked back.
No leakage & feel more comfortable that it's not just being let loose :S 😂

They're a life saver! I used to be terrified to try them I didn't even know why but once I started using them I wish I had used them instead of pads!
