Am I being silly?

Question

My boyfriend has bought me flowers in the past, a surprise to cheer me up (they turned up at work as a surprise) and I absolutely adored them and loved them so much I posted a photo on Facebook showing them off! Anyway after a horrendous day he said he may repeat and buy me some more. But said I shouldn't post them online because it's "our relationship" and should stay private and things should be between us. Is this right? Am I being silly for posting a photo of flowers on Facebook?

I think after reading the comments I'm going to be in the minority here but.. I think that posting on facebook does one or two things.

1.It always is a humble brag, so if you're into the facebook perfect life contest, that's a reason to post. We all get caught up in it (I'm not innocent and I'm not judging) and it's good for your mental health to look on the positive side and only focus on the good stuff, but it does give everyone a really unrealistic expectation for what their life is supposed to be like. It often makes me feel like complete crap because no matter what, someones facebook grass always looks greener, lol...

We've all been the girl looking at everyone else's flowers wishing some amazing guy was sending them to us... And sometimes you're definitely like, now it's finally my turn!!! But the second reason is the more important one...

2. Returning the favor by giving a shout out to your significant other. If they're into it, this is something you should do to make them feel good like they did for you! If they're not.... See above. If he specifically asked you not to, you're kinda doing something that will upset him him when he tried to cheer you up.

I'll be honest... Some of the people I know who make their life look amazing on Facebook have a train wreck going on in reality. I always question people who are posting too much, like... Are you trying to convince me he loves you, or yourself? Maybe that's the way he thinks and he doesn't want people who don't matter judging your relationship.

I post things sometimes, but I don't post much about our marriage. My husband doesn't really care about the public shout-out so I only do it here and there. If he specifically asked me not to, I wouldn't. Enjoy those pretty flowers and try to concentrate on how awesome he is for doing that to show you how much he loves you (and not for public recognition)!!

My man is like this. He says he does it out of love for me, not for me to show the world. He doesn't like the idea of Facebook and sharing your life anyway. He prob doesn't mean anything by it- just wants it to be dear to your heart!

I think he's the one being silly about you posting them. Women post all the time when they get flowers-- it's not a private thing if he had them delivered to you in a public place.

If you ask me that sounds suspicious on his part I post things like that on the rare occasion that is happens. It's normal to be happy about those things and share it.

If he's a private person then I see why it's a big deal. I don't share relationship stuff on social media because my hubba is a private person. He wants those moments to be special between us. not for others to judge, either for good or bad.

Some guys are just shy when it comes to romance, they don't like other people knowing that they actually do such things. They get teased by their friends

That seems weird and makes me suspicious, to me that sounds like he's worried about someone on Facebook seeing he sent you flowers... Are you guys Facebook official?

I'm always getting flowers of my partner literally every couple of weeks when they die and not once has he asked me not to post any!

Yea the last time I was with a man that didn't want anything in your relationship being public it was because he was juggling more than two women at one time. He shouldn't give a shit about you posting pictures of flowers on Facebook lol and him caring that much is a red flag. You post whatever the hell you want.  And start digging for more info in my opinion.
