Anyone here doing a home birth?

I really want to...but my guy might take some persuading.  I think he'd be more for a birthing center if it came down to it.

Have him watch The Business of Being Born on Netflix with you. I wanted a birth center this time (hospital before) but after watching it is was my husband that pushed for the home birth. I'm so excited about it now!

I want to but my husband is pretty against it too. I found a birth center that is its own entity. Like it's not in a hospital but I read some bad reviews on Yelp so it worries me.

Were planning a home birth. We have an excellent midwife and I'll  be interviewing for a birth doula and postpartum doula :) Good luck to you!

This baby will be my 3rd home birth. My first was in a small rural hospital. Wouldn't have it any other way so long as baby and myself are healthy of course! :)

I've thought about it but I think we are going to the birthing center again. The closest midwife is an hour away and I'd have to go there for all my prenatal appointments. The birthing center is only 35 minutes. I planned a home birth with #4 but I ended up having him at the midwife's office, her preference at the time. I wish I'd spoke my mind and just asked her to come to my house anyway.

My sister-in-law has done all of her births at home and all of them have gone well. She has a great midwife though who is very good at what she does, has lots of experience and very trustworthy

I know people that have had really smooth home births, but I personally never could because if something goes wrong, what do you do? I'm glad I didn't because I ended up needing an emergency C-section.
