Ovulation testing post missed miscarriage?

I lost our baby girl around 11 weeks and had to have a D&C 5 weeks ago.  My period has still not returned but we were told it's safe to start trying again, and our OB suggested ovulation testing.

I've never used them before and bought a clearblue advanced digital test- however it says to test post-period, should I assume I can't use it til after I get a period back?  I keep hearing all these rumors that you're super fertile after a MC and don't want to mis an opportunity if there's a chance I'm ovulating.

Anyone get pregnant after a mc before their period returned?

You should be fine to test. If you were to test before your period, you wouldn't be ovulating. They say post because if your period is day one of your cycle and lasts 5 days, you would test first on day 6. Ovulation is typically day 14 of a regular cycle and sperm can typically servive 5 days after ejaculation meaning sex on day 11 could get you pregnant. By testing on day 6 going forward, you will be sure not to miss your ovulation. Go ahead and test! Baby dust to you!
