Can men be raped?

We are facing this problem locally and as i have already spoken to the young man its been honestly rough. Prior to being a SAHM i took psychology training to help with sexual harassment/suicide in the work place we never once touched on males being raped. Not by another man, not by a woman and this young man is well distraught by this. I'm passing his case to someone with better knowledge and experience because i feel like I'd not be able to give him the best. But quite a few of my co workers are already teasing and passing this off as nothing......and they are women! I mean i expect this from men but this baffles me do others feel this way?
